Any takers?

I’ve been wanting to get some work up on CafePress but there was always never enough time. Until now! So if you have friends who are getting married*, you might wanna consider giving them cute and functional casual wear that they can use in pre-wedding activities.

In case you missed it the first time, the link to the shop is here. Again.

*it might be more practical for you if your friend lives in the US, just a friendly reminder.

Hmm, I just realized that the lower half of this page looks odd in IE for both Mac and PC.

Left: how it’s supposed to look like. Safari and Mozilla both get it right;
Right: Apparently, IE shoves the third column (containing the links and, *cough* the Google ads) downwards… I wonder why? Help, CSS experts?

Yoohoo, brides-to-be

Brace yourselves – big, blatant plug coming right up.

The fruit of 4 months of blood, sweat, and carpal tunnel: WE2 is out! Yay!

TWO gorgeous covers, ONE fabulous issue!
Click on image to enlarge. Photography by Toto Labrador, background illustrations by Arnold Arre, styling by Kenneth Chua, gowns by Mitzi Quilendrino (green cover) and Michi Calica (pink cover).

Because I work from home, I didn’t get to see the printed product until a couple of days ago. I do love how the covers turned out so I just had to hug our very hard-working EIC Marbee for making sure they got printed beautifully.*

*In this country, graphic artists rarely get to exercise creative freedom when it comes to commercial endeavors so I’m really really grateful to Sesame Seed for not setting limits on my passion for design.

My Arn also had another collaboration with photographer Andrew Contreras and this time it was for a fashion spread with a theme close to my heart – Broadway musicals! Shei, of course!, wrote the beautiful copy that accompanies it.

A taste:

My Fair Lady

Once on this Island (the pretty gown, by the way, is a Tippi O. (: )

Miss Saigon

*Special thanks to my friends Rache, Apes, Tin, Pazette, Emil, Eric, Toto, and Pia for sharing their thoughts and photos. (:

If you can spare P250, pretty please do get a copy. I assure you it’ll be worth every penny. (:

Alma Matters

Ooh, it seems that a new UP song is in order, set to music by no less than Ryan Cayabyab himself.
(via my UPIS ’88 egroup)

Arn and I have had the privilege of working with Mr. C for some of his albums and we, just like every other person in our generation I guess, hold him in high regard not just for his talent but also for his kind-heartedness. It makes me proud that he is as true-maroon as I am, having studied in our State U all my life.

Work on the magazine (and other side projects) are keeping me away from the net but I hope to be able to fill up this space with interesting stuff soon. In the meantime, you can always check on us via the phlog.
