May 18:
Zire, sigh.

If you're in the market for a PDA, I strongly suggest you spring for the new Zire. I never thought I'd ever need one but after a week of seeing what it can do, I can't believe I let myself miss out on having a digital secretary all my freelancing life.

Having the classic Game & Watch Octopus mini-game is just one of the perks, heh. You can download more G&W games here.

(By the way guys, links to free e-books will be much appreciated. (: )

Courtesy of my mom's video library, Arn and I were able to watch two local films recently, Milan and Mga Munting Tinig. Having made up our minds that anything from the local movie biz is either unoriginal or poorly done*, the two movies surprisingly exceeded our expectations. Both are well-crafted and beautifully art-directed. The storytelling was engaging although the plots still left something to be desired especially Milan which could've been really nice if they only knew where to stop. Even the actors were surprisingly good, save for Claudine in Milan who, as Arn says, is still "stuck in the ABS-CBN school of pa-cute acting". (Obviously she was cast because of bankability. Iza Calzado who was on screen for a total of 10 minutes had a much more realistic performance.) Same goes for Munting Tinig, it was the supporting cast who led the film and not Alessandra who was so-so as the lead. That aside, it's very uplifting to know that the aging movie industry is slowly giving way to the fresher, more talented filmmakers.

*except if it's by Marilou Diaz Abaya and our dear Quark Henares of course.

I still have a working G&W unit (Octopus). Do you have other units? Anyway, playing on the Palm will probably be good enough. :-)
