Ahoy Miyazaki fans, The Cat Returns/Neko no Ongaeshi is just too precious not to see. It's almost as light and dreamy as My Neighbor Totoro though not quite as dark as Spirited Away. Watch it, preferably with kitty on your lap.

I finally got my hands on Andi Watson's Love Fights vol. 1. I don't think I can ever say anything bad about his stuff and this book is certainly not an exception. Relationship issues in a world where real superheroes exist? Alright, Spiderman and Superman tackled that too but then again how can you say no to the man who wrote Breakfast After Noon? Besides, this is most definitely no mainstream (read: Marvel and the like) comic -- it's light and funny and there are no overly-muscular-heroes-in-tights type characters. (Oh, and BAN fans will get a special treat somewhere towards the end of Love Fights vol. 1). Bitin nga lang, I can hardly wait for vol. 2 to come out.

Tasks accomplished in the three or so weeks that I didn't blog (like you'd all be interested durr!):
ï Devoured 8 e-books, 7 belonging to the... err... chicklit genre; the last one being a cat care manual
ï Churned out 3-page comic for a YTBA* project
ï Worked on TV ad campaign that spanned 2 weeks of development, thus had to report for work while dow with the flu (naks, pa-martyr-- Shei had to urge me to go home.)
ï Cared for dear hubby when he got the flu for a week
ï Watched (in no particular order): The Cat Returns, Chronicles of Riddick, Prisoner of Azkaban, Road to Wellville, The Paper, Everyone Says I Love You, What's Eating Gilbert Grape, The Fisher King

*YTBA: yet to be announced

naunahan na ako magcomment ni astrid. siya nag-introduce sa akin sa pelikulang yun and i like Whisper of the Heart better too. The Baron wasn't used in a good way in the sequel. Saka I like Take Me Home, Country Road so biased din ako.

i beg to disagree. didn't like cat's return. it didn't have that studio ghibli magic and didn't like the character designs. Moon (or at least that was one of his names in Whisper of the Heart) was so adorable in Whisper of the Heart but what did they do to him?
