January 02:
On the first day of 2002...

May you have a Happy News year!
-- swiped from a copywriter friend's sms.

So how did I spend the first day of 2002? Arnold came over after lunch and we decided to just stay in and relax (hey, Crouching Tiger and then David Blaine were on AXN). My bro also lent us his DC so that pretty much took care of the rest of our evening.

Arn's flavor of the month: the Smash Pack series, compilations of old Megadrive games preserved in all their 16-bit glory.

Guess it's back to work for me today -- but no, no, no, I won't have to work my way through heavy traffic every morning along with the entire Metro Manila workforce! Not anymore *smile* (So can you tell that I looove being self-employed?).

***
Oh, my friend Naomi is taking her road test in a few days (good luck, Yo). She's been driving for years but they're stingier with licenses over at British Columbia, which is actually a good thing. Here, the right to drive can be had in exchange for some amount of money or if you have power of some sort, tsk tsk.

Note: Now can I just say that I earned mine the honest way, even if the tests consisted of answering a very easy multiple choice questionnaire (you're given the review sheet an hour before) and, um, driving forward, backward and around the LTO parking lot, duh. That was 8 years ago so I don't know if the quality of the tests have improved since then.

Glad to hear you had a great new year! Mine was rather low-key as well, but I spent it with a close friend and we had a great time just talking. I meant to ask you who your webhost is coz I will probably look for a new domain when I get back to the Philippines. Then, nowhereville, usa will become nowhereville, manila.
